+422 The number seven is very significant in Harry Potter. 7 books, 7 horcruxes 7 years at Hogwarts, 7 Weasley children. Things we don't notice are amazing, amirite?

The books tell you that 7 is the most powerful number in the wizarding world.

7 is the most magical number in the world, so it does make sense. It was used in many ancient cultures who used magic in religion

yea I'm positive that dumbles says that 7 is most powerfully magical number. and its repeated a few times. study up your hp!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Of course I knew that. But regardless, it's still neat how JK incorporated so much of it into one series.

alright! Gods favorite number!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Who says we didn't notice? Like all these other people said, seven is the most magical number. Also, wizards come of age at 17 --> seven years --> seven books. The Weasleys are probably just 'coincidence' and there are seven horcruxes because Tom Riddle was obsessed with power --> seven is the most magical number --> he made seven horcruxes.

And Harry's quidditch number was 7!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In the first book, there are 7 different enchanctments gaurding the sorcerer's stone. Harry was born in July, the 7th month. There are 7 players on a Quidditch team. In DH they had 7 Potters to confuse Voldemort. 7 is the age in which most children show some signs of magic. 7 locks in Mad Eye's trunk. Harry got 7 OWLs [I'm pretty sure?] 7's are EVERYWHERE :-P

im think i no what JKR's favorite number is...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Meow_wheres the cat?): did you, or did you not, read the comments? it has nothing to do with JKR's favourite number, since SEVEN IS THE MOST POWERFUL MAGICAL NUMBER.

WooHoo 7s!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The book was originally set to be released on 7-7-07, but that was the anniversary of the 2005 London Bombings. They changed the release date to 7-21-07 because 7*7*7=21. They made 7's huge in that last book.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Harry was the seventh. Dumbledore says so in the book.

by Anonymous 13 years ago
