It's my favourite to see someone going a speed noone expects without signaling. Why would anyone need to know the car driving 70 in a 100 is moving into the passing lane
I dont use turn signals for those cruisin the speed limit in the passing lane unaware of the 20+ cars going 75+ in that exact lane...
I ESPECIALLY dont use turn signals when i am passing you driving the speed limit...
In my city the majority of our larger streets have 2 lanes in each direction. There is also a center turning lane for turning across oncoming traffic. The amount of people who hit the brakes and slow down in the left lane BEFORE moving into the turning lane makes me furious. Use your left blinker, move into the turning lane, and then apply your brakes. Its like they don't understand someone else is driving a 1 ton metal object following them, not to even mention the jackass tailgating me.
in my car it's a pedal, but yeah I get what you're saying.
I don't use my turn signal because it has a bizarre magical power that causes other people's cars to spontaneously accelerate.
It's so easy, but it's like they can't spare the energy or mental capacity for a single finger
They sure will raise a finger to let you know you are the one they think is in the wrong when they cut you off, though.
I often have to remind my mother, "use your signal, they don't know you want to get over if you don't tell them"
I see OP has never changed lanes on a busy highway in NJ. Shoulder look? Always. Signal? You. Shall not. PASS!
Yeah, but they'll roll a thumb over to press a steering wheel button to wake up Siri so they can use CarPlay to text and drive. Priorities.
We dont wish to alert our enemies to our intentions.
Rough life.
Not true.
Drive in LA, put your turn signal on and everyone rushes to go around you. You think they actually going to slow down and let you over???
The only way to use turn signal properly is to signal at the exact moment you are changing lanes.
Idk where this is coming from. LA is great about signaling. They all know the struggle and frankly you can't get over if you're not let in.
Drive the 101 at 7PM and it's flashing yellow everywhere.
I try to be a super safe driver but my turn signal only works some of the time. So I'll turn it on and hope it works. I'm just putting this out there because I don't want everyone to think I'm an asshole lol
I have known three young men who insisted they didn't need to use turn signals because "nobody needs to know my business." Like I have heard that verbatim three different times from dudes who didn't know each other. Unreal.
Then he should remove his license plates. And not file his taxes.
The easiest thing you can do to increase your safety when driving is to just be predictable. Using turn signals is a no-brainer.
I like to let potential partners drive on the second or third date. If they don't signal I assume they won't be able to properly communicate even the simplest of things. (Okay, not really but I definitely learn a lot by the way someone drives and it makes an impact on the future of the relationship.)
I heard a story of an old machinist who owned a shop. He took a young man he was interviewing out to lunch and when their food came out the young man put salt on his food right away. The old man finished his meal and said he cant trust a machinist who adds salt before tasting because the same type of person takes cuts without measuring first.
Just a dumb story but it stuck with me, how often do we really think about what we do?
I don't doubt your accuracy or reasoning. Interesting to see if they were indeed correlated. Ex: I was involved in a fatal auto accident, so I tend to need to be the driver, but in relationships I'm extremely hands off. You seem to be onto something
Or like, when you're trying to turn left to get to a street, and there's a car slowly driving your direction. So you sit there waiting for them to pass you so you can go forward, and then they turn into the street your on... Still with no blinker.
Well you officially win. What? I don't know but god damn it you did it!
