I get what you're saying also. However I think you might be overthinking balloons and maybe underthinking blind people's abilities a bit.
But I could be wrong. Maybe balloons are weird to blind people. We will have to wait to hear from someone who can ask their blind friend or family member this existential question.

i suggest balloons would be way down the list of strange things, they'd be more concerned with basic things that are designed for able sighted people. Eg a digital microwave.
Just to clarify I meant more so the concept of balloons. Like at least with sight we see colored balloons or we see birthday balloons and so on. But to blind people it's really nothing. Like when have you've ever seen a blind person with a balloon?
I think it's just coz, tbh-it's quite a simple concept to describe and most blind people are smart enough to understand globe shaped thin rubber filled with either our own breath or helium (not my family though. Heliums running out and it's kinda important to heaps of things so don't do helium if you don't have to. Just my community reminder coz I'm a dork) and they are bright colours and they float if you have them on a string or disappear to kill sealife or birds sometime later if you let it go and they are the scourge of the environment really.

Can we confirm that balloons are trippy to the visually impaired here? I feel like they would be at a normal level of weirding out about balloons, but I have my sight so I wouldn't know.
And I also don't think balloons are that weird.
