Stop trying to be God by judging. Shut up and ACT like a Christian. Don't worry, God will take care of it.

So acting like a Christian in this situation would be to bury one’s head in the sand and not be critical of it? How would you recommend one act like a Christian in this situation?

@TheSimmeringFrog So acting like a Christian in this situation would be to bury one’s head in the sand and not be critical of it?...

We "act" like Christians by acting like Christ. Yes, homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes. How does Christ handle sinners? By providing them the agape love that none of us truely disserve. That doesn't mean compromising and approving of the behavior, but, in a kind, Christ-like, and relational (friendly) way, share with them that, while Christ loves them, he does not love what they do. Then, let them make a decision without us being judgemental.

Um... not always.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

Ok, first of all, in that passage (Matt 23:27), Jesus was refering to the Pharisees as trying to look all righteous and pure outwardly when in fact they were badly contaminated by sin and hypocracy in their hearts (minds). This is exactly the point I was trying to get across: Jesus does want us to call sin by its right name. He also doesn't want us to compromise with it either. He never did. But, He also want us to recogize that there is a way to do that that doesn't seemingly condemn the offender. Only God can judge. We cannot! In a way that lets people know that we care for them, we MUST tell them the truth so that they can decide and decide without coersion. Lets let God and the Holy Spirit do the convicting.

Fine and good, but Christ wasn't pointing out the scribes' and Pharisees' sins in a "relational (friendly) way" in that passage.  The same goes when he chased the money-changers out of the temple.

" And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. "

Maybe they're using depravity to keep church attendance up.

The Catholic Church is in big trouble, but for a different reason: attendance is WAY down.
