Texas is when rowdier Americans or hermits move to ex-Mexico, and they still seem weird to most of the rest of America. We like movies about it because it seems weird, but most don't associate it as "ultra-American" or anything like that.
trust me it's true, I'm going on a trip all summer to Write a thesis regarding social trends in each state and how the differ, why that might be, how the demográfico effects the culture, ect. But im noticing that texas is kinda generic. It's just a Southern state that talks louder than the rest and therefore get the spotlight. It had a more interesting past than most states in my opinion but as far as the culture goes everywhere in the south except Florida, louisiana, and Tennessee are really similar
Florida and louisiana are obvious differences, Tennessee should be the louder one because it's what everyone thinks texas is.
So a bit over a day in each state. That won't tell you. Texas is big. From east to west it takes almost a day to go through Texas. You can't even capitalize Texas, but you can Florida, but not Louisiana.
I don't trust you. I was born in Texas, raised in Texas, have lived in Texas my whole life and my kids are from Texas. Texian through and through. It will take you several months just to see and get an understanding of all the parts of Texas.
Pretty sure we are the only state to have had our own active military, including our own Navy.

Facts
What makes things special? Some one or something thinking is special. So anything that is special is because it is valued by another party.
The only thing that makes water, water is that it's water
That's the point, texas isn't really special except it thinks it is so Therefor it is. Texas' ego is what's special about it
Yeah. You're no expert in Texas culture. Mocking something you don't understand is truly the most American thing you can do though, so way to go.
One of only two states to have been our own country. 2nd biggest state in the country. Widely diversified economics and peoples.
"Culture"
Peoples makes sense but it's not much different from Bordering states. Look at south california
Hollywood defines what people think our culture is, of course Hollywood's interpretation is similar to Cali's culture
Terry Pratchett wrote a book about that "monstrous regiment". Great moral.
