I think in a Tinder context it's kinda weird, but sending good morning texts to a good friend or someone else you know well is sweet and just shows you're thinking of them.
Agreed. I think that its a nice way to start the morning but I think it would give me the ick if I got this from somebody that I was talking to on tinder and didn't really know
Yeah, it just comes off as fake in my opinion. Unless we're having really compelling discussions and you just want to start off the day's conversation with a good morning, going out of your way to send a "good morning beautiful" text just feels like you're trying to check off a box on the How to Date Successfully list you got off some website.
I send a good morning message to my bestie almost every single day. The main reason I do it is because I'm afraid our friendship will wither because we don't see each other very often because of distance. It keeps the relationship alive
If you're not dating the person or you make sure to do it every single morning, or worse your partner gets upset if you don't, then it's weird and borderline pathetic
I have a group chat with my parent in laws, brother in law and husband. We all tell one another good morning every day and good night most days 🤷🏻♀️
I agree but mainly because I don't send texts without some kind of discrete purpose or for small talk. I think that's dumb.
Hence why it's so nice to receive one
Its possible to have good friends you talk to every day and the good morning text is just a way of saying "hey I'm up now and can answer"
Good morning texts can be weird, but if it's from your partner I wouldn't say it's weird

It's no different then saying good morning in person

Lol, that's so ridiculous, been married for many years and always send the wife a good morning text, especially since the restraining order 😁
Hint: we never met on tinder...or ever use it.

So your problem isn't with good morning texts, it's with a very specific example of clingy people.
Gotcha.
