The truth is no type of food is inherently better than others.

Strong disagree with this statement.

There are some very good dishes from the UK. But There are definitely better options out there.

I think it depends entirely on what you're in the mood for.

I typically stay away from British food, but that's only because I'm always in the mood for good food /s

I think britans best food; roast beef was ruined by the oven becoming common. Beef roast on the spit is way nicer than baked in an oven

It's okay at best

@Mcgee0 Yup, same with Asian food.

Asian food is broad term. Depends where you mean specifically, which of course differs in taste. Lovers of Thai food may not love Iranian food per say.

Bro that's a whole ass continent

I agree with the OP but would add that our desserts and puddings are better than most other cuisines.

Its just annoying as an overused meme. Its more annoying when you know its some American saying it as they sit down to eat overly processed roast chicken from cosco and watch Gordon ramsay

I'm sorry but how do you spend centuries of your history stealing everyone else's spice and expanding your empire yet you still eat like the Germans are flying overhead

@Expert-Afternoon-501 I'm sorry but how do you spend centuries of your history stealing everyone else's spice and expanding your empire...

Actually that was kind of by design. The more the spices came into use, the more it was seen as common people food. Royalty began only eating the "purest" foods again. Now that's basically what British food is.

100%, life is so much better with Fish n Chips, Pies, Roast and Shepherds pie.

Agree for the most part. The UK has some good dishes, but in general it is comparativly bland compared to many other ethnic cuisines though.

It has less spices/herbs, but it depends what you feel like.

A good meal with salt n pepper is sometimes all you need.

If I had to drop a cuisine I eat a lot of from English, Mexican, Indian, Italian, Thai, Malaysian and Chinese, think it would have to be Italian.

this is true but having blander food isn't inherently a bad thing which is something i feel a lot of people get stuck on

Chicken Tikka Masala is 100% British. Chop Suey is 100% American.

Most of the other Indian curries originated in India. However, most of them did not come into existence until The Raj.

Im surprised the US hasnt invaded considering how much oil is in some of their food

Look, as a Hispanic I get enjoying beans, but NOT for breakfast. Nah man, just no. Y'all are wild for that.

Laughs in Mexican food.

@potatobunny Laughs in Mexican food.

As a Brit I firmly believe Mexican food is the epitome of food, imo

Why wouldn't you eat sticky toffee pudding or trifle on purpose?

There is a difference between unpopular and objectively false my friend.

Pimms is good, clotted cream with scones and jam is good. Not much of what you said is bad, but it's not something I'd seek out. And you absolutely can't count tikka masala. The irony is that Britain plundered the world for spices and then eschewed using them for hundreds of years.
