-51 EXPENSIVE COLOGNES ARE A SCAM, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Not all the time. You're painting a rather broad brush here. Expensive perfumes and colognes will likely have compounds that will last longer than their counterfeits. There are also scents that are created by highly sought after perfumers. They can probably charge a premium. However, I do agree that marketing is a significant factor here.

Cheap cologne doesn't last as long

Obsession for men begs to differ

Literally lasting longer than that at the airport no lie. Not saying most expensive things don't last longer I'm just saying with a bit of digging and trial and error it can happen.

Nope I have too disagree. My Burberry weekend and Burberry touch don't have a cheaper version. I have tried. Certain colognes yes. I agree. But the good ones? No comparison

by reillyalessia 1 month ago

Maybe so. I have Burberry hero and I've used touch and weekend. Hero is my favorite and I'm just saying there's no need to pay THAT much money when there's probably a comparison somewhere. You can't tell me any brand fragrance is that special.

I disagree. It does smell cheap and ' dupes' fall very very short. They don't last as long either. Just stick to a couple of faves. You don't need to douse yourself either so they should last you a little bit.

An expensive cologne was the best investment I ever made. Just gotta pick the right one

by Anonymous 1 month ago

I don't know about that. I use to buy $40-50 colognes (think happy for men, pleasures) and i noticed their scent is gone by mid day I started switching a bit more expensive colognes in the $100+ range and notice the scent lasts through out the day into the next wear. My cousin, he has money, buys $300-400 colognes and i notice that scent stays on his clothing as long as he doesn't wash the item. We live in a you get what you pay for world

You can tell an expensive cologne, they are more intense last longer. Can still smell them on laundered clothes

Spray it on your body.. not your clothes.

Like jeremy fragrance said, i could sell my parfume for way less but then noone would buy it. They will say i am worth more than the 15€ parfume.

yeah, it's all marketing

by kemmercorine 1 month ago

I think that's the biggest point. Have had some of the best biggest most expensive fragrances and they smell exactly like some cheaper options and sometimes don't last as long. I'm not about smelling cheap by any means. But there are fragrances out there doing the bare minimum probably and smelling just as good as these brands we exalt.

And it's all about marketing and brand power.
