+62 Mashed potatoes suck, amirite?

by Dismal-Designer-9217 1 month ago

You've been eating terribly made mashed potatoes. They need to be mashed with milk or cream and lots of butter. They need to be mashed until smooth and creamy. They also need to be seasoned with lots of salt and pepper. Sometimes I throw in some green onion for fun. Most restaurants use boxed, instant mashed potatoes which are terrible.

Why try and save something that just doesn't work?

It does work if you do it right.

I understand your analogy but I have had a lot of mashed potatoes, and even like nice restaurant mashed potatoes which people seem to actually enjoy, but on the low though, I feel like they know it's just overall mediocre food, but the restaurant made it just not so mediocre

This is blasphemy! It sounds as if you've never had them made well. But I would agree that most of the mashed potatoes you get in restaurants are a massive disappointment compared to what I make at home. But I don't make them too often because I don't need to be eating 500+ calories just for my potatoes.

You are eating at the wrong places

If you happen to live in or visit the US and come across a Longhorns steakhouse, I suggest you try their mashed potatoes. They do the right, and they are delicious!

I'm in CA 😵‍💫

California or Canada? There are a few in So Cal. If you're in Canada, just be grateful that you have poutine and Tim Hortons donuts.

See I personally have texture issues and food like mashed potatoes make me gag uncontrollably and I get so much flak for something I can't control 🙃

I'm going to say, I think the issue is the person who's made mashed potatoes for you not all mashed potatoes

I don't think personal taste counts as opinions
