Dunno friend clearly you and I are different. A good massage pops my rocks almost as much as someone biting my neck 🤷♂️

I've never been a fan and would pass too. But that's me. I know a lot of people enjoy massages but with neuropathy my back screams in pain if it's anything more than a light rub. Shame it isn't transferrable for that other guy.

Medical massage is different than spa massage. At a spa they can just lightly caress your back if that's all you want, it should never be painful if you don't want them digging in

Talk about not understanding the point of a massage

If you haven't had a massage from a professional (as in a trained massage therapist, not a "pro"), then it's very likely that those who gave you a massage really had no clue what they were doing. If you can stand washing your hair and scalp properly, then there is probably a massage therapist that can give you a proper massage that can be beneficial. Some discomfort can occur if you have knots and the therapist releases them, but it will feel better after. Since you get the vouchers free from your employer and you haven't found a way to gift them to others, maybe consider finding a legitimate massage therapist that can work with you. Letting them know that massages from amateurs have hurt you and they may be able to help.

Massage are supposed to hurt because they are fixing you , mostly your back where there's always something to fix . I used to go when my assurance was covering it and it was very, very painful . If you have pleasure that's mean you did ask them to go easy on you and just massage you or you at some place that offer a happy ending.

Actually, massages can be painful because they are causing a muscle crush injury, leading to rhabdomyolysis (rapid breakdown of muscle tissue). Massages are absolutely not supposed to hurt and may be harming you if they do.

if theyre free then you could try going and ask for a really gentle massage. more like light pressure than anything. any masseuse would probably be happy cause its easier to do anyway. maybe even go in to get your back scratched, very relaxing imo

You must not have any chronic pain. 😆 Good for you. Maybe you don't need them!

Isn't a massage more about relieving pain afterwards rather than feeling relaxing in the moment?

I like massages as far as "this feels nice during it," but I have a different issue. I feel absolutely AWFUL after an hour long massage. It's almost like feeling sick. It just isn't worth it for me personally. I'd rather my wife give me a 10 minute massage, that's just the right length, and I like it hard, it's great. The massage therapists - "the pros" - are all bad at their jobs. All of them. I've had plenty of pro massages and they can't sustain the pressure I want for an hour (I don't blame them, I'm extremely strong and I couldn't do it either!). They sorta lightly caress you for an hour and that just doesn't cut it. My wife does a better job and she's weak as hell, but that's because it's for 10 minutes or so. Nobody can really do it for an hour, and it's not really good for you either, so the whole thing just doesn't work honestly. It doesn't make sense.

I think for some of us, who has more sensitive muscle, yeah, it is amazingly painful. I never really enjoyed massage, even when my friends are enjoying it. So I understand this, and yeah, this is quite unpopular because most people other than us, found it the pain is relaxing. Not me though, its like torture and they were interrogating me to give some kind of national secret, but I don't know what.

"Trigger points" are painful when they are released, if it doesn't hurt you're wasting money
