I think that a lot of political stuff goes in this direction. Ideas that are nuanced get taken to extremes. "Work culture is flawed" turns into "asking me to do things other than smoke weed all day makes you a loser". Or the people who insist that you don't have a right to shoot a home invader because they might be doing it out of poverty. The biggest enemy to leftist causes are young leftists lol.
