I get what you're saying but the LED hat is literally a life-saver if you live somewhere where you might lose power. Starting a generator in the dark whilst holding a flashlight is a nightmare. The hat makes it doable without me half-killing myself trying to start the damn thing with the pull-cord. It's also great for crocheting; I can't get the neck lights that everyone likes to adjust correctly, but the light hat points right where I'm looking. Plus the one I have is rechargeable so I don't have to stress about batteries. Mine was $10 at Ollie's, though.
