I've heard SNL's best years was the 70's and 80's, when everyone was high as a kite, including during the broadcast.

Over the years I've seen many SNL sketches pop up on social media and i have NEVER laughed at any of them.

It's absolutely hit or miss. Always has been. So has all sketch and stand up comedy. The only parts that have been consistent hits over the years is weekend update. Many of the songs too but there have been misses there.

It sells commercial time. Once the commercial time drys up it'll go off the air. SNL was alot better in the 70s when the actors and writers were high on cocaine.

True, but some eras are a lot better than others. If I claim, for example, that SNL was better in 2010 than it is now, that doesn't necessarily mean I think SNL was knocking it out of the park in 2010

SNL, madtv... all of these shows suck. Sadly, these types of shows also sucks in other countries. Even the classic skits arent that good
