Others say that the deaths were completely unavoidable at the point they had reached. If they'd all turned and ran from the beginning, they were fine, but Yam called them back for some half-assed kite retreat.

I think most people are calling him out because of how he reacted to the whole thing and apparently can't take criticism (and it's not the first time). And asmond being on his "side" makes things worst tbh, specially for people that already dislikes Thor.
