I'm a pet owner. I only show pics of my pets to people who also have pets. Also in the work group chat, but I work on a pet store and it's a very normal thing to do. I'd feel weird about showing pictures of my pets to people who don't reciprocate. But I also don't know many people who don't have/want animals lol

Picturing someone shutting their eyes and just walking away from someone holding their phone up to show a picture of their pet. On a related note, I get it, you shouldn't have to share everyone's interests, but I can't imagine a better way to alienate the people you work with (or family, or whatever the case may be) than refusing to just take three seconds to say "cute!" And moving on with your day.

What kind of people are you meeting? My cats are my babies and I don't show anyone unless we have the picture of pet sharing relationship going. Like my boss likes to show me pics of his dog, so I share pics of my cats. I'm with you on the dogs running up on people thing. The amount of people I've had to yell at that I'm not dog friendly in order for them to grab their dog who's jumping on me is insane. I'm terrified of dogs.

I'd understand if it were baby humans you don't wanna see pictures of. I've never been a fan of them. But cute animals? How could you? I always say this to people, I don't trust anyone who isn't a dog or cat-lover.

I'm not much of an animal person either. If I see the animal in person I'm going to pet it if it's friendly, but the picture doesn't do much for me. Same with baby/kid pictures. If I see the kid in person I might pick them up (with the parents' permission of course) but the picture? I'm probably just gonna say "cool kid" (or pet in that case).
