A true man uses punctuation. So yeah, there's that.

Ngl 6 years ago, I was dating this girl. One morning, we were talking about something, and she said, "I woked up late today." I'm not a native English speaker, and she is. That really caught me off guard, lol. But it was so cute, but I still decided to be an asshole and corrected her. Also, let her know that it was cute, lol.

If you need a strict definition of what "a man" is, you're not one.

by Nakiagrant 1 week ago

Yeah, you can apply that logic to all sorts terms. If you go around caring whether people think that you're cool -or- manly -or- alpha, then you're almost definitely not.

"Man" is a social category with loose parameters up to interpretation. Therefore, a true man is just someone who feels aligned to the concept of "man."

We can't be saying there are only two genders and trans people aren't real, while also saying you must fit a very specific definition to be of a certain gender.

Punctuation maketh the Man.

People and situations are too nuanced and unpredictable to really know what a "true man" is tbh.

A true man is a man who is himself, unapologetically. A true man isn't afraid, ashamed, and embarrassed about what people tell him he should be. A true man isn't a hard worker neither a provider, nor is a true woman a nurturer. Society has ruined the image of what it means to be human and divides people into categories regardless of the situation. You aren't less of a man if you don't provide, you aren't more of a man if you do.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion.

"Avoid using the word 'very' because it's lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don't use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason boys - to woo women - and in that endeavor, laziness will not do." (The word "very" wasn't used. The concept still applies.)

There is no such thing as a "true man". Anyone who tries to say otherwise goes into the same basket as those who try and define themselves as an "alpha male".
