+37 Americans' obsession with "low cal" foods mostly stems from gluttony, amirite?

Eating a diet with plenty of healthy fats is actually one of the best ways to keep in good shape. The American low cal foods are actually fattening because they are replacing fats with more sugar to make it taste good. Fats do not make you fat. Eating too much processed carbs messes up your body composition and makes you hungrier and the American diet is very high in sugar.

I don't see how it's an obsession. The people who seek out low calorie foods are typically on a weight loss journey. For someone who's in a calorie deficit it's difficult to feel satiated so they will typically rely on foods with low calorie counts to get rid of the feeling of hunger while still being in a deficit. It's not a bad thing. People like you are the same people who will also bash Americans for being obese, but when people make an effort to lose weight you still find a reason to bash them.

I'm literally American, and I've never bashed a single person for making an effort to lose weight. I have multiple family members who are morbidly obese and I've actually quite aggressively corrected family members for being overly harsh or critical of their struggles with weight, I'm not at all unsympathetic. And I don't think most Americans are obese, I live in America, the majority of people I see are not obese, and many of these people who are at a relatively healthy BMI are a bit obsessed with low/no cal

Not gluttony, laziness for the most part.

I used to feel this way until Ann Bancroft came up to me and told me to smell her pits. I was like "seriously?" And she was like "do I look like I'm joking?" Long story short we had really awkward sex

I agree the nutritional value of food is more important than calorie count
