Keeping the peace only benefits the aggressor, amirite?
by Anonymous4 days ago
I'd go part way with this. A lot of the time, the aggressor is very angry about something and the person they;re being angry with / at has got a choice to make; do they want to de-escalate the situation, e.g. by saying sorry even if they don't feel the situation is all their fault, or stand their ground and risk the confrontation becoming worse and possibly even ending in violence? Neither of those choices is ideal, but you have to make one of them.

You make a great point. If the aggressor is presumably volatile or has a known history of violence , then deescalating is definitely the way to go. Safety above everything else.

Only limited people disagree with this.... unfortunately, they quite often have the say in situations like this.

I disagree. "Being the bigger person" is very common

Yeah, I meant limited in many and varied ways. "Being the bigger person" rarely solves the core issue.

Why is it any of your business or right for that matter to enforce how someone acts or what they say?
