I've played a lot of werewolf-- it can be a quick game if people can make decisions fast and everyone knows how to play(and as long as you aren't playing with like 30 people which I have) One time I got my friend hanged by looking at him until he giggled and everyone assumed he was planning something Secret Hitler seems to be the best of this style of party game

I only find it fun with certain people. Playing with my family, the most vulgar card wins every time, it's just gross out go fish. Playing with my OG board game group is a lot more fun because different people have COMPLETELY different criteria. Like, I have a friend who always chooses a card where the tense matches, a friend who loves absurdism, a friend who loves brutally dark political humor. Trying to make a joke to fit an audience makes it a way better game. But I get how that's not a typical play experience.

Agree so much. It's not funny when the jokes are made for you! People laugh like someone came up with the funny pairing. But no one did. You had 5 cards and simply had to play one. It's wasn't your imagination or wit, it was picked for you.

In NYC, a TON of people play games like this. There are groups all over the city that get together every single weekend for party games, board games, you name it. Some are built around specific games and that's all they play, and others rotate around to different games all the time, but the point is they are very popular here.
