+76 PC gaming sucks if you work at an office in front of a pc all day, amirite?

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

I play games from my PC onto my TV.

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

How is that setup? Could see myself doing it in the future

by maureenwolff 15 hours ago

I'm literally at a pc all day for work. Then majority of my spare time is at a pc playing games. It's awesome. I still do 2 hours or so of exercise a day. So that's fine 😚

This man PCs

by No_Lock_552 14 hours ago

How is that relevant to PC gaming and not just gaming in general?

by Guadalupefisher 14 hours ago

Because when I play on my ps5, I get to sit in my comfy furniture

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

You could connect your pc to your tv so you can sit on your sofa.

by kihnaxel 14 hours ago

Yes but at that point whats the point. I dont want to have my huge tower in the living room.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

There're a myriad of ways to stream from your PC on the same network.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

A ps5 is a huge tower

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

Nowhere near as big as my tower though

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

you can buy comfy computer chairs

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

Then move the PC.

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

why do you sit in an uncomfortable chair to game on a pc? Sounds like a personal issue at that point.

by Langworthxzavie 12 hours ago

Does he have to spell it out for you? 8 hours at a desk staring a computer then comes home to sit at a desk and stare at a computer (but video games) You don't see how that's only relevant to PC gaming?

by ArtistBubbly 12 hours ago

Plug your PC into a TV?

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

So I guess you aren't staring at a monitor when playing on a console.

by Langworthxzavie 11 hours ago

You can setup a PC to be just like a console

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Dont they have control options for pc games, even ones with long wires or wireless and you can sit where ever too?

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

You're playing on a PC but you're playing it like it's a console. I assume op is talking about keyboard and mouse, in a computer chair, and at a desk since they're talking about a desk job

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

I mean yes, I agree it sounds like OP is talking about the sitting at a desk to play factor, and it seems like a lot of people are talking about why console gaming may be more preferred in that instance for things like you mentioned. I'm just confused since you can still pc game without being stuck at a desk or having to use a mouse and keyboard. Sorry its just the reasons to dislike pc in OPs instance seems easily solvable? (I could be wrong and or be misunderstanding, sorry if I am)

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Yes, because you obviously can't do that with a pc...

by Guadalupefisher 9 hours ago

KBM is the main reason I play PC games. So much better for the games I like to play.

by Embarrassed_Lab_9195 9 hours ago

With a console you can just chill on a couch, you don't have to sit at the computer…

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

I'm the same way. Computer is for work, console is for play. It's easier that way.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

And consoles are okay?

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

I feel this. Especially if you WFH at the same desk you game on. It can feel like you're always sitting at your desk and on your computer. Going into the office has helped separate things a bit for me so the association isn't as close. It has lost some of its appeal since I've come to feel like my life revolves around a screen in some way or another. One things that's helped me is finding hobbies that I can take a break from a screen like going to the gym or playing sports. Helps me feel like my recreational screen time is a bit more deserved

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

Not unpopular, man. Software engineer checking in. Yes, I have the knowledge, wherewithal and budget to create one badass gaming PC should I choose. Do I? Hell no. Games are not work. Despite owning a very nice office chair, when I game I wanna be relaxed, and "deep couch sitting". Not propped up at my desk. I use my computer for work. I use my PlayStation and Switch when I want to game. Separation of church and state.

by Bartolettielsa 7 hours ago

Then at that point the experience becomes like a console, not pc thus my point still stands

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

It is incredibly easy to connect a PC to a TV.

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

This got me back into reading. I couldn't agree more.

by osbaldojerde 6 hours ago

Not unpopular

by judeankunding 6 hours ago

Huh? I'm not really sure what you mean. You can PC game in a comfy chair or couch. You can use a monitor or PC. Some PC games use a controller. This seems more like an issue with your setup or maybe you don't really like gaming that much?

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Bro I'm not going to bring my pc and the cables that come with it to my living room

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Feel the same man - have a relatively good gaming PC (3070) from a few years back. Still prefer chilling on the steam deck, switch 2 or PS5 far more. Comes from being at the same desk all day.

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Not if you play with a controller. That's what I've been doing for the past decade. Before that, I used to play with keyboard and mouse, and it was physically painful.

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

I just game at my work PC during the day. Problem solved

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

I completely agree. I have three PCs. Two are on TVs in living rooms and one is on a traditional desk. I almost never game on my desk. All my gaming these days is on TVs, usually with a controller. I'd try moving your PC to your TV amd give it a shot. If it's working for you, I'd try an mITX build (looks great on any TV stand).

by Select_Pomelo 5 hours ago

Console gaming is like bowling with the bumpers on. Nobody really knocks it but you do look like a kid. It's not hard to build a small pc with only a few steps to start gaming. Plus it actually has multiple uses. There's a lot you can do with a pc that consoles just can't

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

I work outside all day so I love PC gaming lol

by ZoneThis 4 hours ago

It is actually a legitimate reason to have a job that doesn't involve sitting at a computer - it can be deterimental to your health and wellbeing to sit that long, not just getting making you sick of doing something you love.

by LoudConsideration861 4 hours ago

I understand someone saying they don't want to sit at a desk after working at a desk all day. But the thing is, you can still use a PC for gaming by connecting it to a TV and using a controller. So no, it's not that PC gaming sucks. It's the preconception that PC gaming must be done at a desk with a mouse and keyboard that sucks.

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

At that point the experience becomes more like console gaming than pc gaming

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

Okay. Wireless keyboard and mouse for general operation, controller for gaming, play on a TV from your couch. PCs are the kings of flexibility.

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

seeming difficult to deal with in prospect ?

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

It's not an issue of anxiety, more so about the comfort is what Im trying to say.

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

Oooh ok. You could probably benefit from some eye strain glasses maybe?

by Even-Method 2 hours ago

I'm literally talking about the comfort and logistics of sitting on a desk. Eyesight is not the issue. Why are you not getting this

by Anonymous 1 hour ago

Ahhh okok I get that. I plug mine into the TV sometimes. It's VERY relaxing sitting back on the couch.

by Even-Method 1 hour ago

His entire argument is that they are related to each other, and as someone who plays games and stares at a computer screen for work, I use a console too. PC is for work and console is for play.

by Anonymous 1 hour ago

Your job sucks, gaming is fine. Don't blame games for your decisions.

by Anonymous 1 hour ago

I never said pc games are bad though

by Anonymous 1 hour ago

The title reads PC gaming sucks if you work at an office… there isn't much distinction

by Sheldonwalsh 39 minutes ago

Just admit your bad at gaming
