+8Sooo, n. korea has a missle. It is said to be capable of reaching the west coast. Trump says it wont happen. So many madmen in power. A tweet can piss off a madman. I cannot quite wrap my head around the fact that our future potus tweets with abandon. When obama leaves the white house so does the dignity of the office. I look at the turmoil this world is in and i should be comfortable with the knowledge that our leaders will pull us through. Past or present, left or right. I believe past presidents truly did what they thought best for the country. I cannot say that about trump. I believe he is in it for the accolades and the power. He has never done anything that didnt benefit him. He isnt going to begin at 70. We are living in a time when we need a level head, tactful speech and knowledge of foriegn affairs. He has none of those attributes. This time he cant file bancruptcy and walk awsy. Ive read that watching the shitshow will be fun. Ive read that we need to give him a chance. I truly believe that this nation has been conned. And when he is done with this job, he can walk away with all his wealth, unaffected. He can go anywhere in the world that is safe. It is the average citizens, the ones that elected him, that will have to live with what he leaves behind. I can only hope that the checks and balances that are supposed to be in place, are.
People in the very far off future will look at our current cartoons and think things like superheros were the gods we worshiped. More
SO, IS THIS Obama’s Last Play for Ethnic Identity Politics..?? Introducing Mena, a new ethnic group created by the lame-duck administration One day in the not-too-distant future, you may be asked to stand at attention at your local ballpark — Busch Stadium, perhaps — to celebrate Mena Heritage Day. The organist will do his level best to play traditional Mena music, vendors will serve Mena delicacies, and a chorus of Mena-American children will sing the national anthem. Huh? What on earth is Mena, you ask? It is the new ethnic group created by the Obama administration to cobble together Americans with origins in the Middle East and North Africa. The group will comprise people as varied as ethnic Berbers, Arabs, Israelis, Persians, and many more. According to proposals by the Office of Management and Budget, Mena may be on the 2020 census. But if that is the case, you may persist, there is no Mena music, cuisine, race, ethnicity, or culture, so what the heck are they going to be doing at Busch Stadium? And you’d be right, technically. But that wouldn’t stop pride in Menaism from being progressively drilled into the young and unsuspecting by our schools or from being embraced by corporations and sports leagues that want to buy a little peace. And, of course, let’s not forget how government would bribe people to tick the Mena box with the full array of benefits that come in the affirmative-action cornucopia. Or that congressional districts would be carved off for Mena people so that they would be able, in the words of the amended Voting Rights Act, “to participate in the political process and to elect a candidate of their choice.” More
+7Trump once said Ben Carson was "pathologically" damaged. He now has him as the future Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Maybe Trump himself is damaged if he can't remember his own opinions...
when people tell you that you can't do something important in life, that can be translated to them saying that they are jealous of what you will become in your future
-2THIS WASN'T AN ELECTION....IT WAS A "REVOLUTION"!!!! It’s midnight in America. The day before fifty million Americans got up and stood in front of the great iron wheel that had been grinding them down. They stood there even though the media told them it was useless. They took their stand even while all the chattering classes laughed and taunted them. They were fathers who couldn’t feed their families anymore. They were mothers who couldn’t afford health care. They were workers whose jobs had been sold off to foreign countries. They were sons who didn’t see a future for themselves. They were daughters afraid of being murdered by the “unaccompanied minors” flooding into their towns. They took a deep breath and they stood. They held up their hands and the great iron wheel stopped. coast, rose up with it.The Great Blue Wall crumbled. The impossible states fell one by one. Ohio. Wisconsin. Pennsylvania. Iowa. The white working class that had been overlooked and trampled on for so long got to its feet. It rose up against its oppressors and the rest of the nation, from coast to coast, rose up with it. They fought back against their jobs being shipped overseas while their towns filled with migrants that got everything while they got nothing. They fought back against a system in which they could go to jail for a trifle while the elites could violate the law and still stroll through a presidential election. They fought back against being told that they had to watch what they say. They fought back against being held in contempt because they wanted to work for a living and take care of their families. They fought and they won. More
If you could think of one stand-out sentence to describe this election to your future grandkids...what would it be...?
