I think the reason people can listen now is because they see theres something they can do about it. The video shows people they can just spread the word to stop whats happening and thats not exactly band wagon jumping because if you're talking about it you're spreading the word, you're helping. But people who have no clue what this is and haven't watched the video and are just tweeting #kony2012 or #stopkony are a bit irritating.
yes that was what the video was about, but the mission of the video is to spread the word about who he is and what he does and stop him by convincing congress that the special unit deployed to stop him needs to continue their work.
no, you clearly didnt watch the video. In the video they say that they want the word to spread, especially to high profile celebrities and eventually political figures who can help keep the special unit sent out to capture/kill Kony in Uganda searching for him rather than giving up.
I watched the video, I don't think you did. If you did you didn't get the message. When I watched, I didn't take from it that we all need to go out and protest and donate money to stop this guy. The whole point of the video is getting the word out. So if you tell a friend, or tweet #Kony you're helping. The video is a social experiment of the internet's power. Can we make this video go viral and spread the word to show congress that the special unit deployed to Uganda to stop Joseph Kony (ONE person committing these crimes) needs to finish their mission? That's the point. We can't just tweet about starving kids in Africa, that would take actual donations or you going over to the country to help because it's a wide spread problem. Basically, if they kill Kony, they save all these children and stop him from abducting, killing and forcing children into war and prostitution.
I don't think its the actual acts that is the biggest concerning factor of this whole Kony deal. Obviously, its VERY devastating, but come on. We've all heard of children getting abducted, killed and sold into sex slavery. The point of the video is that if we all work together, spreading the word about the ONE guy who is doing this, we can help take him down. He has done this to 30,000 children so if you could simply tweet #stopkony and help spread the word to help stop this you would, wouldn't you? It's something simple that can be stopped, not a whole war that we have been in for ten years. I personally would like the war to end but we can't just pull out all the soldiers and say that's it.
itd be nice if disney had a family sitcom that involved the main character having gay parents. As long as it was well written and not stereotypical i think it would be really nice but i know some would disagree...
when i first read this i thought you meant Kevin the sea cucumber from spongebob... hes not that funny. but that episode was. "KEVIN!!!!! HEY LOOK EVERYBODY KEVINS BACK! KEVIN, WE LOVE YOU!!"
if i get i ever find myself getting into those issues I just say "you know what, i accept and respect anything you have to say as long as you do the same for me, ok?"

Exactly! Which makes it even harder to find him, which is why the unit deployed may be coming back and the mission will be canceled.

i really hope by the time i have kids its completely normal to like any gender and kids are just brought up to feel comfortable with things like that.
"we should all just not do it! its not like they can give us all detention!!"
