While age doesn't signify maturity, it still makes more sense to base the right to legally drink, smoke, serve in the army, etc. by age than by anything else.

Age doesn't always corespond with maturity, but it's a pretty big indicator. Sure, there may be some really mature 15 year olds and really immature 25 yer olds, but they're outliers, the average 25 year old is gonna be way more mature than a 15 year old, due having a decade more life experiences and responsiblity.

And yeah, age make sense, simply because what the alternative, giving everyone a test regardless of age and if they pass, they get a licence to drink or smoke

What's your opinion on foreskins? Do they creep you out? Are they the greatest thing ever? I'm curious.
@_Jojo_ I'm not sure of my stance, but just curious. Do you think it should also be illegal to pierce a baby's ears then?

I didn't share that for sympathy or anything, but because it's true, some piercings the holes stay for life, if anyone looks at my ear they can see the two holes in each lobe, and I know age 7 is different to an infant, and that there's every chance one of the other piercings I got could have become permanent, but I honestly think people should wait til age 12. Clothes and stuff gets caught on earrings, when the baby goes through its 'grab everything and shove it in my mouth' phrase it could pull the piercing out, the actual piercing itself hurts to have done even if it's only hurting for a couple of hours, etc.

Yes, for the same reasons, and also it's not uncommon for babies/young children with piercings to accidentally tug on them, and sometimes cause themselves pain or even rip it out.

I had my ears pierced at a young age (two holes in each ear at age 7) and then got a bunch of other peircings in my teens. I took them all out at 18, I am currently 21 and the holes from the four I got at age 7 are still there. It's not a big deal, since I did agree to it, and probably would've gotten them done anyway as soon as I could, but I'll probably always have the holes in my ears.

How would you describe your race/ethnicity? I know some are nationalities, it is referring to the ethnicity associated with that nationality. If not listed here or you want to explain further, please comment!
@fuzala so when you think of Asians, do you think of the latter? I also think it's interesting that someone can be Jewish...

Yeah, when someone says Asian I think of a Chinese-looking person.

And yeah, I hesitated before adding 'Jew' (maybe I should have said Jewish/Hebrew) but yeah some people do consider themselves "Jewish Christians" or "Jewish atheists" and whatnot, because even if their religion isn't Judiasim, they're ethnically Hebrew or come from a Jewish background/culture. I think there's actually a particular system in the culture determined by maternity, ie, if you're not Jewish but have a Jewish mother and non-Jewish father, then you're considered Jewish, but it you're not Jewish with a non-Jewish mother and Jewish father, then you're not considered Jewish, it's the mothers blood that's considered important (I just remember reading that ages ago, if anyone knows more about or knows its wrong, feel free to correct).

Also, even though like all ethnicities looks vary, there are stereotypical Jewish features, like tan coloured skin, curly hair, large nose, etc.

How many homepage votes do you personally think a post needs to get to home page?

My opinion has changed on this since the site changed. I'm sorry, I know everyone is sick of the complaining, but the fact is there was a lot more active users, and a lot more voting and discussions back then, particularly when people without an account could vote/comment. There was also more consistency, and people were usually on good terms with most of the moderators.

Anyway, even when the site was active, not many people would click the Homepage Post button. Maybe that's changed, but several mods have said that it rarely gets up to high number, it would be rare for the Homepage Post button to be clicked by 10 users.

I used to think we should be allowed to see how many Homepage Post votes a particular post had, but the potential for cheating is too high. I also thought that if a post got enough votes, it should be homepaged, even if the admins/mods didn't want it to be (that is, that the users should be allowed to overrule the mods on certain matters) but c'mon that was never gonna happen.

The button does what it's supposed to, draw mods attention to a particular post, there shouldn't be a required amount of votes, if a post is homepage worthy than

@fuzala I think it's interesting how you have an option for Asian and South Asian In England, people think of Desis when...

I don't know if the little flag thing shows, but I'm from Australia, and geographically South East Asia is close to Aus, and most of our immigrants come from Asia, and while I know there are hundreds of different cultures within the continent (hell, even Vietnamese, Japanese, South Korean, etc. people are quite different from one another), the two main ethnic categories I could think of were Asian and Desi.

If I had to list all ethnicities I'd be making the post forever.

What's your opinion on foreskins? Do they creep you out? Are they the greatest thing ever? I'm curious.

I personally don't think that it should be legal to circumcise infants. Yeah it's "just a bit of skin" but it's still part of the baby's body that there's no real medical reason to remove (except in rare cases, but most circumcision is done for cultural reasons). If an adult man (or even a kid 16+) wants to remove his foreskin, then he should go ahead, it's his body, but if its a kid, no, it can't consent to having the bit of skin removed (and I don't think the parents should be allowed to either, wait til he's grown and let him decide for himself) and so it's a violation of the baby's bodily integrity.

I didn't have a mobile phone til I was 16, and it was a $60 one. Good ol' Nokia ...

Professor Dumbledore was a little too obsessed with Harry Potter. And it's not like the other students didn't know either. amirite?

I agree, but not in the "hehe Dumbledore was a paedo because he's gay" way, I don't think he was sexually obsessed, but I think it would have been noticable to the other students that both he and McGonigal gave Harry a lot more attention. Like, McGonigal bought him a fucking broomstick in the first book, that's a shitload of favourtism right there. And even though we know now that Dumbledore paid Harry extra attention becuase Harry was meant to kill Voldemorte, to any other student it would just seem really unfair. It was even noted when Ron and Hermione got shit in Dumbledore's will that seemed odd to the will guy (I forget his name) because even though Dumbledore was close to Harry, he never really paid much attention to Ron or Hermione outside of them being Harry's best mates.

You can think of a situation wherein committing rape is the moral route, amirite?

I thought of being in a room with a woman and a maniac with a gun breaking in and telling me if I don't rape her then he'll kill us both, but in that situation I think both the woman and me should be considered rape victims and the guy with the gun should face two charges of rape, since we were born forced to have sex.

It makes no sense to be transgendered and homosexual, amirite?

Explain
