@freespeechfreelancer How do you KNOW I am straight? When did a wife ever stop some men from still pursuing outside options? And I...

You have put that you're straight on your public profile. So you didn't need to tell me in this conversation specifically but you've already told me in what you've written about yourself.
And you know who would gain from people knowing they are not straight? Other non straight people! The world doesn't revolve around what you want to see. Because for example if I know a girl is a lesbian or bi and I am attracted to her then I'd probably let her know. It's happened to me a couple of times where girl has told me she's interested in me after finding out I like girls too.

@freespeechfreelancer If people's bedroom business is private and nobody's business, then how can you tell me that you KNOW there are...

By that logic why did you tell me you have a wife? Now I know that you're straight. Ew keep that information to yourself please.

Now that gay marriage is gaining momentum for acceptance in the US, the next issue we'll confront in the area of marriage is polygamy among consenting adults? Amirite?
@fuzala couldn't one go one step further and say "I don't need permission from my current spouse to get another spouse. I'm...

No I don't think that's right or fair. Because the current spouse will be affected by a new one entering the marriage even if it's only financially.

@perdix I'd agree that it would be a small fraction of the population who might be interested, but I'd like them to have...

Yeah me too. People should be able to choose to marry more than one person if everyone in the marriage is ok with that.

Raising minimum wage will only raise the cost of living thus creating a never ending cycle of inflation, amirite?

Raising minimum wage to fit with the current rate of inflation keeps people protected from exploitation and poverty.
Having a liveable minimum wages means that people having to work two or more jobs to survive can work less, freeing up jobs for unemployed people, which means less money needing to be spent by the government on welfare and also people being able to spend money on more leisure activities "luxury" items, which fuels the economy and makes it stronger yay!

Supply and demand does that mayne, lrn2economics.

@fuzala I feel bad for the whole friggin' community I don't think they grow up developing properly mentally, physically...

Yeah that's very true! Just because other members weren't sexually abused doesn't mean that they weren't still brainwashed and denied their freedom :(

@fuzala yeah, that is a problem that one guy was jailed for forcing marriages and he still controls these people from jail...

He was who I was mainly thinking about :/ I feel so bad for those poor girls who grew up in that cult.

I don't think it will gain too much popularity unfortunately because there are far less people actively wanting their polygamous relationship to be legal than there are same sex couples wanting their relationship to be legal.

@fuzala I wonder why some people who are pro-gay marriage are anti-polygamy it doesn't make sense to me because they both...

My only problem is cult religious groups who shelter their children away from society and force their children into polygamous relationships... and that's more a problem with those groups than the idea of polygamy in general.

@freespeechfreelancer For me personally, the traditional view of marriage is that the ring and the vows "seal the deal." People living...

A marriage can be legal or symbolic or both and can be chosen or forced... there is no one glove fits all with marriage. Many people view the idea of a ceremony and a ring unnecessary to their relationship, that doesn't mean that that their relationship is any less committed than a couple that does, they could have lived together for 50 years and have children and grandchildren - which seems far more committed in my opinion than say a couple in their early 20s that have just gotten married because they've been told it's the right thing to do before they move in together. But your view is that because they have "sealed the deal" with a ring their relationship is /more/ committed than the first example? And you'd be more accepting of the first couple cheating even after 50 years than the second because they don't have wedding rings?
My grandparents recently celebrated their 50 year wedding anniversary and they are still very much in love - but the only reason they did get married was because my nanna got pregnant at 15 ... They ended up getting married when she was 17 after getting special permission because she was under 18 they were already living together by that stage and the only reason they did get married was because her parents thought other people were judging them because they weren't married, neither of them even wear a wedding ring!
"And if a woman has a child with guy 1, and he disappears, and she routinely has a steady flow of guys in and out of the house, who is said child supposed to connect with as "dad?" " - It would depend on the people? What if the child's dad dies and she remarries? Who does the child connect as their dad? People can still abandon their partners with their children even if they are married!!!!
It might shock you but some people have a fetish of seeing or knowing about their partner having sex with other people. There is nothing wrong with that! Other aspects of their lives may be exactly the same as any other average couple, but their bedroom activities are different and no one else's business as long as everything is open and consensual and no one is getting hurt!!!

I'm not homophobic or hate gays or anything like that, but being gay doesn't make much sense to me. If you're a guy, you find other guys who act like girls and dress like girls attractive. If you're a girl, then you like other girls who are dressed like guys and act like guys.
People who drink black coffee: you feel irrationally superior to people who use milk and sugar, amirite?

I like the taste of black coffee but that doesn't mean everyone else should.
