It's kind of unfair that a lot of people assume I'm a stupid, hateful person just because I'm Christian. I believe in science, evolution, and gay marriage. My intelligence and tolerance should not be judged based only on the fact that I believe in God. amirite?
@Astronaut_Will My problem is that I feel like believing in those contradicts the bible and if god is perfect then the bible must...

I think the Old Testament of the Bible is an mostly allegorical. And also, the more I learn about things like evolution, the more I believe in God. Of course evolution isn't in the Bible, they didn't know about it when it was written, so how could it be.

Exactly. According to the Bible, Eve ate the apple off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. People who interpret the Bible allegorically (like me) believe that this was when humans lost the knowledge of God. (So whenever we judge, we grow more distant from God.)

Exactly, Anonymous. It's like a child looking at a TV. The child can't comprehend all the mechanics behind it, so they pick a simpler explanation, like "there are little people living in there."

More so with video games.

I don't believe in that story literally, I was just saying how the Bible is interpreted. (It's like how you can read Harry Potter, interpret it, and take away "life lessons" from it, without believing in it.)

If you need to use the oppression of others to justify your morals and beliefs, then you don't really have any morals or beliefs to begins with, amirite?
@Gnomebody This seems specific, did you have an example in mind?

If you think gay marriage has to be banned so your marriage is more "special" (I can't think of a better word), then it probably wasn't in the first place.

A lot of people seem to forget that faith isn't proof. Amirite?

Many people also forget that a lack of faith does not mean disproof

It's dumb how some people keep saying that gay marriage shouldn't be legal because it removes the significance of straight marriage. When someone else is happy, it makes me happier, and when someone else plays the same video game as me, it makes playing it more fun. amirite?
@tyreeshajones it should be illegal forever. the sanctity of kim lardashian's 72 day marriage, or Britney spears' 55 hour marriage...

(I understand your sarcasm.) I laugh whenever I hear someone say they're protecting the "sanctity of marriage," because "sanctity" is basically the noun form of sacred, which means religiously important. We can't have our laws based solely on the "Word of God," because some people don't believe in God (I do), and it isn't fair to make people obey the laws of a deity in which they don't believe.

When talking about God, fundamentalist Christians will say they believe because it makes sense to them, and the atheists will ask "Where's your proof?" But when talking about evolution, the atheists will say they believe because it makes sense them, and the fundamentalist Christians will ask "Where's your proof?", amirite?
@DanielJames And the atheists aptly respond, "there are vast amounts of empirical data that support evolution."

Good point. I personally believe in both, and I think that if there were definite proof that God existed, it would defeat the whole purpose of "faith."

Good point, Forgaymarriage. Last I checked, Jesus taught me to love my neighbor, heal the sick, feed the poor, clothe the naked, etc. and that by doing that to the lowest people on earth, I do it to the highest in heaven. That's why I'm liberal.

It's not cheating if... Insert excuse here... No, jerk, I'm pretty sure it's still cheating, amirite?
@MeilK It is not cheating if you are just kissing your mom good-bye.

Yeah, @259060 (MeilK): That isn't really an excuse, and I'm sure your girlfriend/wife would understand.

You used to know the first 151 Pokemon like the back of your hand, amirite?

I still do.

Guys that are jerks make it so much harder for the rest of us to get girlfriends. amirite?

That is my exact opinion. It just isn't fair to us.
