+5SCREW people who think "this generation sucks." Look pal, the fact of the matter is that every generation has sucked. Politics has always been politics; but then actually, I would argue that it's even better now. At least we don't have senate members hitting each other in the heads leaving blood in the upper chambers, like Charles Sumner. And guess what? People have always been ignorant. You can say, "oh, we don't get anything done today because people are so uninformed," but look buddy, there are always going to be ignorant people. Heck, most of us are going to be ignorant. You think those 20-something-year-old anti-war doves in the 60's were all actually adamantly against Vietnam and knew every nook-and-cranny flaw with it? Or maybe they just smelled what that other guy was puffing in his psychadelic tent or attracted to what the other guy was rocking out to with his loosely-clothed groupies? You've got to be kidding me. Stop romanticizing the past. WE live in a great era- albeit, it has many flaws we have a kind of cold-war mentality towards anything of middle eastern origin, and so many other things that we probably have a long ways to improve in-but what else do we have? Gee. We have some great technology-electric cars, touch screen computers and phones-we're inching towards something-like universal health care---and we are doing great things... More
