Actually, that is not always the case. Some surveys show that the majority of teenages do NOT smoke or drink regularly.

Unless you're in Hogwarts. Then all you have to worry about is Deatheaters, Darkmarks, spells, greasy-haired Potions Professors, saving lives, moving stairs, accepting anything edible from a Weasley (especially if it is offered with a compensation for any damages), having a spiritual moment with your dead house-elf and some looney closes his eyes and says he's just "sleeping", the Forbidden Forest, guys "polishing their wands" in the common room, teachers saying you should "transfigure yourself into a pocket watch" so you'd be more likely to be on time, being unable to cheat on a final exam because the quills are bewitched with an anti-cheating spell (it's as if they don't trust you!), and everyone having a date to the Yuleball except you.
