+509 I heard a theory today that once the U.S. removes the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy that the U.S military will be ruined by gays. WRONG. My theory is that the military will be ruined by heterosexual soliders who refuse to fight on the same side as homosexuals. And if this turns out to be true (I hope not) then we as a society deserve everything thats coming to us. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Atleast now you'll know who to kill whilst they are sleeping, the only reason soldiers are against fighting alongside gays is because their love of men alters their judgement when killing enemies which are likely to be male. as for the same reason i wouldnt harm a woman

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Col. Sanders): ...What?? Women are in the military. Straight women like men. Men kill them and they kill men. How is that any different from gays? Anyone can put aside their feelings for what they believe in, whether it be fighting to defend or otherwise. Speaking of which, just because they're gay doesn't mean they're attracted to every man. Do you love everyone of the opposite gender?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay or straight we put our pants on the same way

by Anonymous 13 years ago

except for me, i have three legs everybody!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

please, don't insult the men who fight for our country that way- it underminds them... And it's a bit disrespectful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post isn't insulting soldiers, it's insulting homophobes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The problem is to who you take your pants off to.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Pvt. soap): I just like flashing my wang though

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The people who deserve what's coming are those who refuse to fight on the same side as gays......but not the rest of us who either don't care if someone is gay or those of us who ARE gay - like me.So no, society as a whole shouldn't be punished because of the closed-mindedness of some voluntarily-enlisted soldiers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All of you are ass holes. OP included. Soldiers don't want to fight with gays, but not because of homophobia. The policy is there because straight soldiers don't want to shower with gays, and women don't want to shower with gays. If they allowed gays to fight, nobody but gays would join. Don't think of it as lack of equality. Its just logic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Agreed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yay! Someone who's intellegent on this comment list other than me. Hooray!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about the hundreds of thousands of solidiers that have showered with gays and not known it? My boyfriend was in the Army (in Australia) and he said that there were some soldiers there who everyone knew was gay, and all the other straight soldiers didn't care about showering with them. They wern't trying to rape them or touch them in their sleep, if they had been then obviously they would have complaints made against them and discharged.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would also like to point out that Australia dosn't disallow openly gay people from serving in the millitary. Neither does the UK and many of America's other allies. Some of the Other countries that don't allow gays to openly serve in the milliatry are some of the most oppressive countries in the world eg, North Korea.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

regardless, one person is all it takes to start something. And I don't know about your boy friend, but both of my parents were in the military and have told me themselves that they didn't want to shower with them(out of context, of course).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...Sorry, but that sounds completely idiotic. Our soldiers, fighting to defend this country and protect a countless number of lives, brave enough to head out into battles they might not survive, run for the hills at the idea of showering with men of a different sexuality? That's an insult to them, especially if its true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Soldiers don't need to BE straight, they just need to be able to SHOOT straight. Ignorant pricks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just a silly ignorant prick who copied this from a post that was POTD awhile back so my opinion doesn't matter

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ha-----ha----- very funny -_- the truth is im gay

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually I'm lady gaga

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uh, I hate to break it to all you gay supporters who look for things to be offended by, but the whole Don't Ask, Don't Tell thing is about guys not wanting to shower with openly gay and/or predatory guys. It's not about homophobia at all; it's there to level the playing field and keep the focus on what's important.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But what about all the other countries that don't have the "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Are all their soldiers not still being focused on what's important?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

On the plus side, the uniforms might get a lot more stylish.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have no problem with gay people, but it could get slightly awkward while in the shower room...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you are correct, but nowhere near original.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol. You can complain all you want, but there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. The Army has it's own set of rules. It's almost like it's own little government. It's not bound under the Constitution. And I heard an interview once, about a female soldier. She said most of the other girls had problems showering together, and they were heterosexual. So imagine a lesbian showering/living with them. That would be like putting the men and women in the same barracks. Heterosexual men are attracted to heterosexual women. It wouldn't work out. Too much chaos. And lesbian women are attracted to women, so it's the same thing. Too much chaos. Same thing with gay men. They'd be put into barracks with other men they are attracted too. And you can't argue that they wouldn't be attracted.. That's not the way the Army is meant to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You assume that all or most gay soldiers will be attracted to the straight ones. That's like saying that all men will be attracted to all woman. Definitely not true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, the shower thing is a bit stupid. Sure, it would be awkard, but there are ways to work around that. There is no need to discriminate against a whole group of people just for one reason. There are ways to fix that. Openly gay guys could shower else were if it were that big of an issue. It's obviously not just the shower issue that makes you not want to have gays in the army, because that can be worked around. Who cares what sexuality you are? Just because they are gay doesn't mean that they go around liking everyone of the different gender. There are ways to work around this issue and i don't think that gay's should be discriminated by THERE LOVE INTEREST. Love is love, no one chooses who they love. I agree with whoever said "who cares if they are straight, as long as they shoot straight" life is unfair to those who are different, i guess.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Finally someone who is actually thinking straight (no pun intended).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Greek city-state of Sparta had one of the best militaries in history, and they were known to practice homosexuality. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_the_Spartan_warriors_practise_homosexuality Not saying wiki.answers.com is the best place for facts, but you can research some more if you want.
