+534 How come no one ever asks, "Which came first, the platypus or the egg?" If the egg came first, why would it necessarily be a chicken egg? amirite?

No one has ever insinuated that a chicken egg came before any other egg. The chicken was chosen because it's a ubiquitous animal, and humans eat more chicken eggs than any other kind.

I thought it was more along the lines of 'Which came first, the egg from which the first chicken was born, or the chicken itself?'

that is my exact argument to people! Nobody ever said it was a chicken egg :O

thats my argument, too! i always say, the egg came first because dinosaurs layed eggs wayy before chickens existed. [: I argued that against my friend once and she got all mad because she couldnt top my answer. heheh

The egg came before the chicken. Because eggs have been around since dinosaur times. Chickens only came around recently. ;D
