It so confusing when you have to write "gray/grey". You always wonder which is correct. amirite?

Yep, it can be either. Grey was the original spelling and more common in England. Gray is an American derivation. If I'm not mistaken, I once read that E.E. Cummings was the first to spell it that way. This is more common in America, but it really can be either.
