it's called the Republic of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for a reason i think

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Republic? Since when is it a republic? It's always been a monarchy, that's why it's called United KINGDOM of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Why are you people so stupid! Of course it's in Great Britain! Britain is made up of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. GREAT Britain is made up of all of the above, but also includes Ireland. So OBVIOULSY Northern Ireland is in Great Britain! >:O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, Great Britain is the island that contains England, Scotland, and Wales. Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland, but it's a part of the U.K. [Great Britain and the U.K. are two different things...]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dammit, I had it the other way round. Sorry for calling everyone stupid, I hope you all forgive me :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's ok lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how does this have so many YYAs? :-S

by Anonymous 13 years ago

XD I'm so stupid. I'm British and I was like "WTF, of course it is!!"... Oh man, I should be fired from British citizenship XP

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Since Northern Ireland residents are citizens of Great Britain/UK, doesn't that mean NI is part of Great Britain. Then again, I'm American.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Great Britain is the island in which there is England, Scotland and Wales. Is NI in that island? No. But it's part of the UK.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Shows what I know, haha. At least I'm not like the average American who either doesn't know that Northern Ireland exists or thinks it's independent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not independent you know... It's part of the UK... ... ... ...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, yes it is. I'm sorry, but it just... IS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You obviously don't know the difference between Great Britain and United Kingdom. Grat Britain is the island in which there is England, Scotland and Wales, is Northern Ireland part of that island?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Great Britain = Britain Britain = The UK UK = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. It's not confined to one island.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. The United Kingdom and Great Britain ARE NOT the same. GB is the island, like Kauai, that's an island; while the United Kingdom is GB + Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and the British overseas territories. Google it ("difference between Great britain and United Kingdom").

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why would anyone make this so complicated? Whoever made up this system should be shot. Even though they're probably already dead?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is how I remember: It would be GREAT if you could SEW (Great Britain/ Scotland, England, Wales) If you read the NEWS you would know the parts of the UK (N.Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think you guys are forgetting about nearly half the population of northern ireland who consider themselves irish and not even part of the uk
