+285 Happiness is 50% genetic, 40% environmental, and 10% what you choose to do, amirite?

My happiness depends soulfully on my boyfriend - how he's feeling, if he's happy with me then I am happy. Is that lame? Lol.

You are heartless.

sorry. I just mean other things should make you happy. Your friends, your dog, watching your favorie Disney movie or hearing a good joke. I really hate it when people give up there whole life for their boyfriend/girlfriend. If you guys break up (Im not saying you will, but IF you do) I really hope you still have things in your life that make you happy. That's all.

how is happiness genetic?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You think that hapinesss depends on genes? Maybe it does a little bit, so here's a better one: 50% the exact situation at the moment 20% how your day/week has been going 20% how your life as a whole is 9%. how you were raised to think of things as funny 1%. genetic

Depression is genetic, so why can't happiness be genetic as well?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly...happiness has cellular and chemical roots, so the genetic makeup of your brain plays a larger role than what you'd expect. It's why two people of the exact same socioeconomic environments can have wildly varying levels of happiness. This is my post, by the way.

happiness is 100% based on your mental state of mind. That is why happiness has an "I" not a "Y"(why)..

How is it then, that I am a happy person, despite a family history of depression, the death of my father and grandmother during my childhood, and a house with my hoarder mother that is just terrible. I think it's all how you view things.
