Not when people are being nice just to please their god. Also there are other ways to teach about hope and peace.

At least you realize that it is a basis for war and hate. It seems a little ironic, however, that it could also be involved in peace.

So religion cancels itself out?

Religion gives life a purpose for those who truly believe it, and thus people have a great desire to follow the commands that they believe are divine. Most religions and their scriptures promote love and peace in general, but Holy Books such as the Bible and Qu'ran also have somewhat conflicting messages of violence and intolerance. You see how people could end up on both ends of the religious spectrum, depending on how seriously they take their scriptures

Not all religions.

Those people who interpret the Bible in a way that promotes war and hate are forgetting one of the Ten Commandments, which is "love thy neighbour". Therefore its an incorrect interpretation. Imo.

Drugs are also the basis for all of the above. Love is just the same. It's as though all of humanity is driven by religion, drugs, and love.

More like a basis for total ignorance of how the world works.
