In some historic cultures parents didn't actually name their kids. They referred to them as you, my child, or some such until they were old enough to pick a name themselves. I'd do this for my kids, but parents get in trouble with the government if they try shit like that. It's hard for the feds to track a kid who doesn't have a name.
