Edwin Binney and Harold Smith were the creators of Crayola. Neither of them were colorblind.
However, Edward Moser, the most senior crayon maker who made 1.4 billion crayons, was colorblind.

They can still see shades. My boyfriend is red-green color blind and blue-purple color deficient and he can tell perfectly between browns/reds/greens/yellows. He's never seen the color so it really doesn't matter if he's missing anything.
