I should get a Tortoise as they're one of my favourite pets. Even though I don't know if I'll be in a suitable state to look after it in a years time, they're fairly easy to manage, amirite?

I don't know...if you can't take care of it in a year, then you have 99 more to go (or so, depending on what kind you get). Do some research. I think aquatic turtles live less than that, but you will have to worry about maintaining the Ph, Nitrate, Ammonia and temperature in the tank.
