+284 Those girls who decided that they shouldn't shave above the knee shouldn't be wearing short shorts, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well sometimes you don't want to live with dark, thick stubble growing above the knees for the rest of your life. People can wear whatever they want.

What I think when I see girls with leg hair and/or facial hair: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/9821/chewbacca486623455.jpg

Unbelievable. It's a lot harder to get rid of facial/leg hair for women because they have to hide the stubble. That means that we have to shave our legs and wax whatever else EVERY NIGHT. Men are expected to have that "shaved face" look. But can you imagine what women would look like if they did that? Now what's more gross -- having thin, silky fuzz or prickly stubble?

It's like you're mad or something

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because I am. Sorry; I can be such a feminist sometimes. But really, why should women have to restrict what they wear just because they choose not to shave a certain part of their body?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because they look silly when they don't shave of course

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Looking silly is subjective, they might look silly to you, but is it a bad thing. Let's confront the weight, their freedom to not shave, you and somebody else finding it silly. Doesn't it look silly to even compare? And mind that while you might not be the only one that might find like they look better shaved, lots of men and womer would not dream to impose that. Do you advodcate conformism? You could gently state that you don't find them attractive and you are entitled to that, but not that they can't wear shorts because of that.

fem·i·nism   /ˈfɛməˌnɪzəm/ [fem-uh-niz-uhm] –noun 1. the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men. Why are you saying :"Sorry; I can be such a feminist sometimes" ? Sorry for interrupting; it just bothers me when people don't use the word correctly. Being a feminist doesn't mean you're a crazy woman wh thinks women should overpower men. It just means you want men and women to have equal rights. I agree with the rest of your statement though.

But she's right, besides it's not true that shaving makes the hair thicker. I agree the wookie image shouldn't be taken so seriously though, lol.

So is it expected that all women shave? Because I know of a few that have never picked up a razor to shave their legs. It's all the way that society and media works; women supposedly are required to have flawless, smooth skin. In reality, that's never the case. So get over it that maybe you men don't like touching a bit of fuzz. Maybe we can turn this argument around and say that all men who have beards/mustaches should wear a surgical mask at all times.

Most men I know ask why we bother shaving cuz they don't care.

Some people have really fine blonde hair on their thighs that you can't even see. They shouldn't have to shave if they don't want to , not even girls with dark hair. I mean, it might look unpleasant, but it is their choice. BTW, it's a myth that the hair above your knee will grow back thicker/coarser if you shave it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not a myth. I regret shaving my thighs.@1298647 (jojol17):

Look it up, it's like one of the biggest shaving myths. Hair "seems" coarser when it is growing back, or in comparison after you have been shaved smooth for a while. At least that's what I read many, many times.

I'm a girl with dark hair and I have really light body hair.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, that's lucky.
