They're not being hypocritical by 'hating' hate. They just believe that the world would be a better place if people didn't hate each other, and are trying to spread their idiology (and therefore make the world a better place) through love, compassion, and public speaking.

This depends on how they are preaching. Are they opening up and being kind and compassionate? or violently lashing out and hurting people. Disapproval and hate are two totally different things.
