+896 It's really annoying when your parents come home tired and say something like "You know, some of us have to work all day!" and you're just thinking "Yeah, because school is a real piece of cake. I didn't work all day at all. I don't have a bunch of homework or anything." Amirite?

Just wait until you have to work, you'll be begging for how easy school was again.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not necessarily, i've heard adults say they hated school more than they hate their job.

It depends on the job then. For example, someone who manages the entire IT team of a bank has it far harder than an actual IT person.

School=6 hours (at least in my school, 90 minutes of this is spent on lunch, break, or just not doing anything) Work=usually eight hours, with much less then 90mins of break plus, 90% of time spend "working" in school is doing stuff that is really easy or just talking to friends

By "'working'" in school, doing stuff that is really easy", I'm not quite sure what you mean. Try and take my course load, 4 AP's, along with several other classes, and let me know how easy that is. This post was not to be about who works harder or anything, it was to point out that everyone works so it isn't fair for your parents to make assumptions that you don't work at all. It's very different work, but there is still tons of stress and effort that goes into it.

Agreed.

I agree too. I'd also like to point out that if your parents worked as hard as you do when they were in school, then they should have a job in a field they like. Kids have to learn new info about 5 different subjects everyday.

maybe if you did homework instead of this you wouldn't have to complain.
