+262 Soccer players exaggerate the pain they actually feel while playing. They start rolling on the ground holding their face and 5 seconds later they jump up and keep playing. It's like the WWE, but on grass and less massive people. amirite?

They do that to try to get a free kick. Pretty much all soccer players do that, the coach usually even tells them to. They're rarely in any actual pain. (I know this because I play soccer)

I'm wondering what kind of soccer league you play in, or if you just kinda avoid physical contact, because I've been playing for 17 years and there are a lot of serious injuries that can happen, and any time I've seen a guy go down and scream in pain he's actually hurt. I've never faked it, and have never had to in order to get a foul called, because unlike in, say, basketball, the right call usually gets made whether someone goes down or not.

I once broke another kid's leg playing soccer. He was screaming and my first thought was: Oh, he's just faking. Then I felt bad, but I didn't get a foul against me, so it was all good.
