There's alot of people who haven't really considered God or a church, and Christians talking to them about God can help them. I know, there's also alot of athiests who just want us Christians to leave them alone, but I think it's worth it for those few people that we can help.

I agree that kindness should be spread, but as a Satanist it is not because of what the bible says. Also, trying to convert people will generally only make us angry. Some of my closest friends are Christian or catholic, but I am only friends with them because they don't preach to me. (let the insulting me begin, as I know verile spawn will do what they have been programmmed to do)

Go ahead and be mean to atheists if you can't actually accept them for being that way, I bet they would find your Christian self-righteousness better than your utterly misguided attempts to make everyone else as blind as you are. I support Christianity as far as its doctrine of turning the other cheek, but not as far as it tries to force others to practice that principle the same way Christians do. You might as well do atheists everywhere a favor and just leave them alone.

I'm atheist, and I respect Christians like you. I respect all religions, and it makes me furious when people yell at me for not believing what they do. If people bitch about atheism, I bitch back. But people like you are good. You're fine with what others believe. Well, the only thing I disagree with is the whole "we can't convert them". Don't try to convert us. Let us make our own decisions. During the age of exploration, Europeans tried to convert people. What happened to those people? They died. So please don't try.

It doesn't tell you to convert, it just mentions that Christians are supposed to try to convert people. You're sitting here reading a post saying "Hey! Christians! The only things I don't agree with are 'convert them' and ' the Bible tells you so'. Why would you try to convert them right after saying that it was fine to be atheist, and why do you have to be nice because the Bible says so? what's so wrong with being nice because it's the right thing to do? I agree with the overall message, but they way they wrote it is very contradictory

Hi, I'm a Christian and one of my best friends is an atheist. She is the sweetest person I know and she has great morals. People should be nice and accepting to others not just because the Bible says to, but because it is the right thing to do. This is something that can be universally understood. Also, I get along with my friend because I've never tried to convert her. Trying to force your beliefs on someone else is the number one way to piss them off. Sometimes my friend has questions about my faith, and I only do my best to answer them and explain things she does not understand, not tell her "you need to believe this". I'll respect her no matter what she decides to believe in, or not believe in.

i'm athiest and i'm pretty young.i believe in science. not in a superior being that we have absolutely no proof of. i do agree with many universial christian and jewish teachings, but i dont want to belong to this christian religion thats being shoved down my thoat at home and at school. of course i cant tell my family bc they would be furious, but i wish they had given me a choice of my religion or to not belive in god. i like this comment bc it adresses equality in al belifs but i dont apperciate how religious people are constantly trying to convert athiests and people of other religions.

Lets pretend that you have two children and love both of them unconditionally. One of them is making good choices in life, is very smart, and has a great relationship with you. The other is making some poor choices and ends up in prison for 50 years. Just because you love both of them equally and unconditionally, you can't stop the second one from his own choices, and you can't keep him from paying the consequences in prison. God doesn't send people to Hell. People send themselves there.
