-125 It's great that Americans are getting into REAL football, but you can't wait to lol when they get knocked out in the next round, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You spelled Brits wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

everyone needs to stop being an ass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To be honest, I only posted this to see how much controversy it would cause. So long as the yanks appreciate football more, I don't really care how far they get in the tournament.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yall know nothing about real men sports.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

smart, i guess. well, you've done it.congrats.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow, you're kind of a dick. Was that really necessary? People don't want to come here to be angered. They want to be amused. You're a fucking douche. Fuck you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Judging by that comment, you're not exactly a great person yourself. At least I don't resort to childish name-calling and needless expletives.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's true, americans know nothing about real football or real men sports. If american football is a real man sport then why do they wear all that armour and padding when Brits do exactly the same thing in rugby with NO armour or padding!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well said sir.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

uumm are you dumb or something lol,you really seem to know what you're talking about the reaon they wear those is because they WANT TO KEEP THEIR CAREER! what good is it paying some guy millions of dollars if he's just gonna get a concussion or a broken bone (or body)? call them pussy's because either ways, they're rich

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and, they're careers last longer then rugby player's do BECAUSE they're protected by padding. in the long run, it makes them more successful then rugby players.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh, go fuck yourself. america's culture is rich with sports, and insane assholes of fanatics that watch them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not to be an asshole, but we won group C, and that was with two dissallowed goals. With a lot of supposedly good teams playing like shit, America may have a better chance then you think.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

With you guys facing a pretty easy team in the next round, this post may well come back to bite me on the ass. xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol so wait American think they have a shot at football? Please excuse me a second.*Takes deep breath* AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ok i'm back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Once again, we won the group. If you're from England (which I'm guessing you are), you should be the one who's worried about having a chance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not from England.I'm just laughing that you come to a sport you can barely play and think you can actually win something here against teams who are a lot more experienced and overall better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well said my friend! well said

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If america really doesn't know how to play, how did hey make it to the world cup in the first place? they have to be decent enough to qualify, but that's just an assumption

by Anonymous 13 years ago

GO GHANA!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Considering how poorly the group that the US played in were (basically all ties; all the teams struggling against each other) and with teams dominating in other groups against other good teams then it should be pretty clear that their better off losing this round then sneaking of it and getting embarrassed l8r

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Soccer's BEEN appreciated in America for a while now, so idk wtf you're talking about

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love football, reggie bush is my favorite player, but i don't care much for soccer /:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hey, we gotta start somewhere right? don't hate on the new enthusiasm.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

right! jesus. everyone is being so mean. it's normal to talk about stats and stuff, but to down on a team that obviously has some skill (or they wouldn't have qualified, kicked a small amount of ass, and made amazing comebacks) is a little weird. i feel like people hate america, not their football team.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well said. I also feel as if people are hating on our country, rather than our team. I also hate it when they insult us for using the term 'soccer' instead of 'football'. #1, we have a sport already called football and #2, 'soccer' is a British term to begin with, so you can't hate on us for that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea you pretty much got.No one really likes americans except americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Landon Donovan is my hero

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I KNOW. he is currently higher than Oprah and God on the list!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My family actually started CRYING when he scored the goal

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OMG. Die hard football fans ftw. I screamed. Louder than I screamed when they told me I was adopted.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh wow. I saw it. screamed. then prayed that they would not take the goal back cuz I know they love to do that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

America was just lucky... They didn't deserve to win or score a last minute goal... I hope Ghana wins the next round (no offence) GO SPAIN!!! xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

in sports, when someone scores then they deserve it. that was stupid. offense*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They only spell it 'offense' in the US. So his/her spelling was correct.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well we'lljust have to se at 2 o'clock!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

QUESTION: At the world cup do they announce it as soccer or football?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Football of course. Only in America is it pronounced soccer. Anywhere else, people will give you weird looks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well it's soccer in Canada too so that's why I ask. I don't watch it. Anyway, since it's actually called football then apparently, I guess that would make it America+Canada football fail.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The reason american football players wear padding is bc theyre bigger and have way bigger hits than in rugby. Plus with the addition of pads its much funner to watch since the players make much more contact without the fear of being hurt as easily. Rugby seems like a combination of soccer and lacrosse to me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've always seen it as more of a combination of Football and American Football.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fuck you and your perception of "real." If an American likes American football, then let him fucking like it. * Note: I don't really like American Football or Soccer (your football).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not denying anyone their right to like American Football, I only used the word "real" to indicate the fact that "soccer"'s proper name is football.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yeah, cause you Europeans with your golf and tennis are such manly men. Or feminine women. One thing I'd like to point out: yank =/= American. Yank = New Yorker, or very broadly that area of New England.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lololololol.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To be completely honest, I'm not so sure why everyone hates Americans in the first place. Really, we are no more materialistic than other countries like England. and our military goes and helps people, which in turn pisses everyone else off. But then, when some sort of disaster strikes, everyone looks to us to go help out. Also, yes we do have many people who aren't really exposed to other cultures, but, although it sounds somewhat arrogant, you have to think about this: after World War II, the American culture was the main part of cultural diffusion; call it "Americanization" if you will. So, the main culture at that time was the American culture. Americans didn't have to do anything to fit the common theme. Of course now, this isn't true. But that is where the "ignorance" (if you will) comes from. We have not done anything to anyone else that is worse than what other countries have done. Look at the European colonialism of Africa! What have we done to deserve the hatred?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, would you look at that... I was right. :)
