+83 Guys: You have wondered at least once how it feels to have blood coming out of your body once a month like girls. amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I just stab myself every 12th of the month! Totally compares

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It feels wonderful.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you like it too, because besides the first day (cramps and stuff), I actually like having my period.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You are the first girl I have ever met who says she likes her period. And yes, AugustusWaters was being sarcastic.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

GeorgeCostanza , what the hell makes you like your period?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It depends on the woman. A couple of my friend become happier on thei period, but most of them get hormonal.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No I mean they literally are happier. Not everyone has to fake it. They tell me they're happier on their period as well.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not the best, but you get used to it. Cramps are a bitch but you just have to grit your teeth through the pain, especially you're around other people (school, work etc.). Some people have it worse, some have it better. Pads and tampons can be uncomfortable depending on your body position during the day (I've only //heard// about tampon uncomfortableness since I only use pads) but you don't really feel them most of the time. I've only had mine for 2 years (I'm 14) so I can't really say much; it could get better or worse as the years go by.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're used to it? D: I've had mine for 4 years & my body always surprises me :p & I'm actually surprised that you heard tampons are uncomfortable. They only are if they're not in all the way & I think they're so much better than pads

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well as I said I feel like with time my body will change and I might experience my period differently. Hmm, I only heard about tampons feeling weird from my friend so I guess they probably feel differently with different girls. I'm personally too scared to use them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you put them in properly, you can't feel tampons at all. Cups are even better since they don't have an annoying string. Nothing to be scared of.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay, well I have a box of tampons in my room so I might just try one when I'm on my period.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Good luck.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

remember, 45 degree angle. Don't insert the applicator all the way until you're sure you got the angle right.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Why do tampons have applicators? Before I got my menstrual cup I only used the ones without applicators. It just seems kind of weird to me that people would be so scared of touching their genitals that they use applicators. Can someone who uses applicators tell me what the appeal is? Is it feeling disconnected from your own body and being grossed out by your own fluids, or is it something else? The whole attitude of being grossed out by normal biological processes is just weird to me. I mean, guys can talk about their bodies all the time, why do girls feel embarrassed if they drop a tampon so that a guy sees it? (and btw, if you haven't tried the menstrual cup, you should. It is the best thing ever)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Anon, are you me? I agree with everything you said. It's crazy how many girls have an "omg, gross" attitude towards their own bodies. I also used non-applicator ones. I think the only good thing about an applicator is that it might be easier to insert if you're a virgin or new to tampons. I found that they would never be in far enough if I used an applicator though. I'd wind up having to push it with my finger anyway, so I switched. And the applicator ones are really uncomfortable to remove because they're so long. Cups really are the best things ever.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's easier to use an applicator, I'm not really squeamish about touching myself, because its my own body. That's really the only reason.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How can you wonder? Women bring it up every five seconds so they can be superior for feeling more pain than men. After having to listen to it, I HAVE felt that pain.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I thought this post was just talking about blood gushing out, not the whole experience of getting your period but okay.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@Brettward95 As far as I can tell, you're the one who is bitching, not the women.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@ThymeAgain As far as I can tell, you've never heard a woman speak.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Dat negative 28 cool

by Anonymous 11 years ago

by Anonymous 11 years ago

it feels like your uterus is eating itself

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This simile doesn't work for men because most men lack a uterus. Anything else to compare it to?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The comment right below me sums it up better for the dudes.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's like having someone grab your intestines with a pair of tongs and twisting them. Then after that arousing bit of fun, you're visited by Aunt Flow, aka Niagara Falls flowing from your vagina. During the whole process, the torrential amount of estrogen is making you emotional. Thank God for birth control.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My doctor put me on birth control because my craps would keep me home from school. My BC has also almost completely stopped my periods, which is awesome.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

looooool okay I know I'm not the only one laughing at this typo

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Sorry about that. I giggled a bit myself just now.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Just the blood coming out? I usually don't feel it but sometimes it gushes out and it's just an uncomfortable feeling.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's like getting punched in the gut by Joseph Stalin. He has an iron fist...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you wear tampons it's a lot better, because you don't have to worry about leaks or the uncomfortable feeling of blood coming out. Cramps suck, but Advil or Midol usually does the trick.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You can't even feel it really

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I have random nosebleeds? I'm a male

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Am I the only person here who just deals with the bleeding... I don't have cramping, bloating, mood swing, or weird cravings...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, you're not. I have cramps every once in a while, but they're not that bad. I do get a little moody, and I actually lose my appetite, so I don't bloat or gain weight at all. inb4 TMI.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I only sometimes get cramps and they're never bad enough for medicine. I have cravings for chocolate, but that's normal because I always crave it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I haven't had my period in almost a year thanks to birth control. I've almost forgotten what it's like... Thank god.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You don't have a period at all? That must be nice.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's VERY nice.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

In my experience, the actual blood gushing out isn't even an issue. You barely feel it. What's really bad is the symptoms that come with it. ***Fair warning: I'm about to start bitching about my period*** Sometimes my cramps are so bad I literally can't get out of bed, and bloating makes all your clothes extra tight which makes cramps worse. Plus, I'm either hungry and horny all the time and the littlest things make me get pissed off or start crying.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This might be a bit disturbing to read but really? I thought everyone could feel the blood. I certainly can. Sometimes my vagina contracts and there's like a whole shitload of blood.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This is also going to be gross. Sometimes a lot of blood will gush out at once, and I can feel that, but I don't constantly feel the blood coming out.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I understand that periods are painful. I'm not saying that they are in any way, shape, or form not painful. That being said, it pisses me off when girls say stuff like, "It's like getting stabbed in the gut" or anything along those lines when I know that they haven't ever been stabbed in the gut. That just makes it sound like you're exaggerating because you've never actually felt that pain. Ladies, I understand that you are going to complain when you're on your periods, but please stop telling me it's like a gunshot to your stomache or a machete to your abdomen. (I understand that not all girls complain about periods and that not only girls complain when they're in pain.)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay, most of us haven't felt been stabbed in the gut. But it does feel like that. For some people, it does feel like an intense force that comes all at once or in pulses, and the closest thing that can describe that is being punched or stabbed, either all at once or repeatedly. The metaphor I use to describe my period is that someone's twisting my guts back and forth (think someone giving you an indian burn, but inside you). Not that anyone's ever given me an indian burn inside of my body, but that's how it feels like, and that's why I use that metaphor when describing my cramps.
