But its the beginning of the new day. Think in military (00:00)

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but I was always taught that 12 o'clock "really means" 0. Like, 1AM is 1 hour, 2AM is 2 hours, etc., and then 12AM is the full 12 hours, so 12:01 is just 0:01. If that makes sense.

That's military...like i said

I think that 1:00 should be on top of the analog clock. It makes things a little easier. Or just never using that method and only using military time. Like really military time is so much better of a process.

Yeah, you're right, it would be a hell of a lot easier. I dunno if I'm the only one that does this, but I've set my alarm clock for 6, and then woke up later, realised it didn't go off, and was late for something. And then later at home, at 6PM ... the alarm clock goes off. It would be super easier if we just have 06:00 and 18:00.

Lol, "super easier". And yes, it IS easier, that's why the rest of the world excluding America uses this way. Same goes for the metric system.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We don't do it in Australia. But then again, Australia only got electricity last month, and we only got the Internet last Thursday.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, I didn't know that. But I suppose Australia is closer to America than Eurasia. You guys still use the metric system though, so good job on that y

Yes. We were basically a more inbred convict version of Britain until World War II, and then we became more Americanised, probably because of the media/entertainment we watched.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's always confused me.

No, because the way I see it, the 12 after 11AM is marking the start of the afternoon, the PM, so should be 12PM. The 12 after 11PM is marking the start of the morning, the AM, so should be 12AM.
