The creator of Cleverbot e-mailed me (I contacted them) saying that there is a cleverbot, but he calls us Cleverbot because we call Cleverbot cleverbot! I still think it's a load of B.S.

I think the Cleverbot takes our responses and stores them, then spits them out to other visitors. So if it says something about ducks and you say "quack", it will respond to a different visitor that says "duck" with "quack". That's just my theory.

That is what I always thought. It just kind of learns what visitors have previously said and when they say it.
