+860 My 10 year old sister shouldn't have a phone, much less one with unlimited texting, amirite?

I was 10 when I got my first phone. But I could only use it while babysitting and it didn't have unlimited texting

My ten year old brother has a cell phone. Surprisingly, he manages to use decent grammar and proper spelling.

sometimes unlimited texting is the cheapest family plan, it is for mine

i got a phone when i was almost 11, and i didnt have texting. i was fine but if she does have unlim text see how she takes it.

yeah, well my 8 year old sister has one, she's had one since she was about 6, and she doesn't know where it is or how to use it. But my parents plan on buying her the brand new one she wants for her birthday in a few weeks....

OMG that sucks.

What does a 10 year old even do with a phone with unlimited texting?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My 10 year sister has a phone with texting too, and she texts her friends on it. Most of the kids in her class have phones.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She texts her "boyfriend". It's really, really, pathetic.

I had a phone when I was ten, but that because I had to walk home from school and stay home alone. I did not, however, have unlimited texting.

I didn't get my own phone until I was in 7th grade, but my younger sister got one in 5th grade... unfair, I think so.

I need a phone, even though I'm 11. Most of the time I am away from home or home alone, and it's good to have a backup phone, especially since our land-line is broken right now...

I got my phone when I entered Middle School, 'cause I ride my bike. I had unlimited texting because it was part of the plan my family was on. It really doesn't matter that much, just as long as six-year-olds don't have iPhones. THAT would be kind of ridiculous.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh my gosh, if i saw a 6 year old with an iPhone, i would like cry lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Someone in my brother's class (3rd grade) got an iPhone for his birthday. I wanted to punch his mom.

Wow, look at all the older siblings hating because younger ones got things sooner. I feel your pain, I really do- I'm an older sister by 3 years- but seriously, there's no point. Times change; hell, parents change, and whining about how unfair it is only makes you look immature. Be the bigger person, get over it, and laugh privately when they get themselves in trouble with things they're not ready for.

I get your point, honestly. At the time I posted this, it really pissed me off, but now it's kinda funny XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

=) Thanks for getting the point, op. I seriously remember fuming over that kinda stuff when my sister and I were kids; she got *everything* earlier than I did. My mom wouldn't let me shave my legs until a ridiculous age(like 14), which was terribly embarassing considering tiny gym shorts, and when my sister got to like 2 years earlier I went nuclear. In retrospect, it just made me look ridiculous- and when my sister cut herself all the way down her shin, I got to have my smug little private "I-told-you-so" xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm still not allowed to shave my legs (or anything else) and I'm 17. I have to sneak, because I refuse to be hairy.

I didn't get a phone until I was 14/15, and then I had to practically beg my daddy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OMG! Is it a religious thing? That's just completely unrealistic. I can't imagine a mother wanting her daughter to be humiliated that way =( Good for you that you manage to sneak; that rule is completely unreasonable.
