Yeah, why? Quite frankly, I don't care if his mom was white, black or purple. It doesn't affect me in any way.

Obama prides himself in the fact that he is the first African American president, and seems to disregard the fact that he is half white.

He can, but he doesn't acknowledge his white half, and neither does most of America.

Growing up has half African American is enough African American to be discriminated against. I know this from personal experience. Also, he may not be fully black, but he has broken some boundaries with his election, whether you choose to say that it "counts" or not.

I wouldn't say HE does, it's people around him. I have never heard a quote from him talking about being the first black president.
