+1,083 I hate it when people confuse "your" and "you're". I mean, I understand we're not all grammarians, but the concept isn't that difficult to grasp! amirite?

Guys. Seriously. OCD .. ?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um... No, not OCD, just think it's nice when people actually take the extra tenth of a second to think or put in an apostrophe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha yes i totally agree. I'm into full grammar too and it bugs me when people are illiterate but there's a difference between creating a post about it and having a full discussion on it .. I think you see my point?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seriously, you're an idiot.

It's because of the way some people think, not any lack of intelligence or grammatical knowledge. I sometimes do it when I type quickly without going back to proofread. It happens because when some people think, they think of how the word sounds when spoken, not how it looks when written out. They then reflexively (and randomly) write it in one of the three ways they know how to spell it, with preference obviously going to the way they write it most often, this make it a difficult habit to break even when you know you do it. When writing (or typing) becomes as natural of a thing as speaking, people pick up various habits as they carry out the task without paying too much attention to how they carry it out. It's why people can make typos in the first place. It's silly to expect people to proof read every comment they make on the internet, especially in a comment thread. This is in actuality an informal setting. I didn't proofread any of this, how bad was it my dear Grammar-Nazis?
