Why not? some people end up married. and even if you don't marry that person, you learn a lot about being in relationships by experience.

Well this is quite the ignorant post. 1) Dating in high school is fun. 2) You don't marry the first person you meet when you get out of high school, so what's the point of dating them? 3) Dating in high school will prepare you for an adult relationship. High school relationships usually end because of one partner being clingy/over protective/smothering/not there enough, etc. Of course, those are only a small margin of why they end. Dating in high school allows people to learn that those things are a big no-no in an adult relationship. 4) Companionship. Sure, it may not mean anything enormous from a third person perspective, but to the two involved in the relationship it means everything.
