+217 I bet the people living in Kansas get annoyed when they hear the phrase: "We're not in Kansas anymore." Amirite?

My mother and I were driving down to Texas a few months ago, and when we passed through Kansas I started watching the road signs so I'd know when I could say "We're not in Kansas anymore!" Probably not the most mature pastime, but it was a very boring road trip.

Where is that line from?

The wizard of Oz.

Yes, we hate it. Most of us do not live on farms, and every Kansan I know hates that movie, because of that line.

was that sarcastic? I can't quite tell.

No, it was serious. It really is quite irritating.

I'm Nebraskan. I hate it even more.

I used to live in Kansas, and my best friend is always like, "Erin, I don't think you're in kansas anymore..." :P It stops being funny really quickly.
